I’m running for the Library Board to help secure a bright and thriving future for a place I deeply cherish—the library. As a retired automotive engineer, I bring collaborative, data-driven problem-solving skills to the board. My experience serving on the Parks and Recreation Board and other city committees equips me with strong community leadership and governance insight.
Having lived in Birmingham for 29 years, I understand the city’s evolving challenges and the library’s vital role within our community. I’m not just a long-time resident—I’m an active patron. Each week, I enjoy reading, attending programs, and using innovative resources like the Seed Library, Library of Things, and Idea Lab.
My commitment is simple yet steadfast: I want to help ensure Birmingham’s library continues to thrive—welcoming learners of all ages and abilities.
I serve on the Ad Hoc Senior Recreation Center board. NEXT provides great services to seniors in our community and the city should provide them with a facility. The library also serves our seniors and I am in favor collaborative programming between NEXT and Baldwin Library.
The recent library remodel improved access and added meeting spaces. I support library outreach to provide inclusive programming for groups that might have been uncomfortable in the library pre renovation.
I love the library Idea Lab and I use it regularly.
Have questions or suggestions? I would love to hear from you!
